At the start of any weight loss journey is when most people have the most motivation to see it through. We’re usually able to start it off with a bang because we’re picturing what the end result will be. Our motivation sometimes begins to dip when we stop seeing the results we were hoping or other things come up with regards to our weight loss. Success in any weight loss program can definitely be contributed to having that constant reminder and motivation for continuing. Maybe take some of these ideas below to help you to stay motivated if you are lacking motivation.
It’s good to write down your goals. If you set your expectations too high then that can cause you to fail because you’ll become disappointed from now meeting the goals. Having the motivation to make it through to your achievable and attainable goals will give you further motivation. Having a goal that is too large may discourage you so cut it down into smaller chunks, and go after those smaller chunks.
Your ability to keep track and see all of your progress so far can also help you. Helping to see how far you have already progressed, with some sort of diary or journal of your weight can be a great way to get some weight loss motivation.
Having someone else allows you to lean on each other when you’re really discouraged and they can give you motivation and vice-versa. Getting encouragement from a local support group for people trying to lose weight may be a great way to help you to keep your motivation up.
Find something that you can reward yourself with if you’re able to meet a certain goal. At each step of the way have that reward out there so that you can strive toward earning that reward.
