Fitness Model Tips

Do you have what it takes to become a fitness model?  Many men and women dream of landing on the cover of a major fashion, fitness or bodybuilding magazine, modeling the latest fashion or promoting popular fitness products.  It may look like an easy life, but in reality fitness modeling is not easy.   These models work very hard at their craft and also have to consistently eat the right foods and continue to keep their bodies in great shape through exercise.

Fitness models must be careful to eat healthy, low calorie foods, drink plenty of water so that they stay hydrated, and follow very strict workouts in order to stay in top condition.  If you have ever read any interview with a female fitness model or a male fitness model you will discover that they usually eat multiple small meals a day, usually eating ever 3 hours or so, and work out just about every day as well.  They have to make sacrifices sometimes in order to stay in top condition for their chosen profession.

Many hot fitness models got their start by competing in competitions such as Fitness USA, Fitness America and other competitions that are held throughout the country.  Many times editors, photographers and other business people from the fashion and fitness industries will be in attendance at these shows where an aspiring fitness model can get exposure and promote his or her modeling career.  It takes a lot of dedication, persistence and networking in order to make it in this field.

Women fitness models often have the opportunity to be bikini fitness models.  They appear in fashion and sports magazines showing off the latest swimsuits and other summer fashion.  In order to appear as a bikini fashion model, these women need to be in great shape.  They not only have to have well toned bodies, but also skin that has a very healthy sheen or glow to it.  These women also need to be photogenic and attractive in order to be considered.

If you are interested in a career as a fitness model, you need to realize that it takes a lot of hard work and determination to succeed.  Not only will you need to eat the right foods and be committed to your fitness workouts, but you will also need to become skilled at networking and enlist the help of a good photographer, makeup artist and agent to make it in the fitness modeling business.
