Get the Most from Your Cardio
Treadmills and stationary bikes both get a lot of use at gyms all over the country. They are each almost identical in popularity because the both have a decent amount of pros and cons. At the end of the day does one have more fans than the other?
Most people have the best desires but just simply can’t stick to the specified workout program. What can make it more difficult is that when you run or bike at home there is no one around to keep you going or motivated. In the end you lose motivation because you simply loose focus and get bored.
The bike and the used treadmills will each give you varying levels of entertainment, so lets compare the two of them. Because you do them all the time, running and walking on a treadmill may not be any spice to the variety of life. It is not all that fun but you can if you want change and vary the speed and incline you are running with.
Because you are stationary on a bike it is impossible to misstep or run off the back, which makes activities where you need extra focus a little easier, say reading a book or magazine for example can all be done will on a bike. The reason you can do this is because you are not flailing all over the place with a runners stride. You are more likely to stick to your program because you have so many other activities to keep you busy.
Old studies have indicated that you lose more calories running than biking which may lead you to the treadmill because its more efficient right? The numbers only tell part of the story so hang on just one second. If you are like me you want to do what seems hard but really is easier, which would be the bike as you are more easily entertained you will stay on the bike longer, improving results every time. The bike wins out one more time.
This last one should really speak for itself because the main reason you use a bike is to get your body into better shape, not create more injuries, again the bike wins as it will generate less impact. In the end it is just safer to use the treadmill.
What keeps you safe and entertained will keep you on the program longer and losing weight faster, so go find some used treadmills or a bike for sale, either way – make it happen.
