The main way to start trimming that tummy fat is to be careful with how many calories you take in on a daily basis.  Many times, people with fat tummies actually eat a lot of junk food or foods and drinks that are high in sugar and empty carbohydrates. You need to cut out all fast food and junk food and instead eat good healthful meals with a lot of vegetables and fruit.  That way you will not be taking in an excess of calories that turn to fat round your middle.

If you are a beer drinker, you may want to reconsider how much you drink. A beer belly, after all, is the epitome of a fat tummy. Oftentimes regulating how often and how much you drink, or even switching to a less high calorie drink, can really help you to trim belly fat. Aside from the fact that it makes you gain weight, it is also not good for your body to drink too much alcohol of any kind.

Finally, you may want to look into getting a personal trainer. They are usually trained not only in knowing the best exercises for targeting certain parts of the body, but also in nutrition and overall health, which can helping you with losing belly fat.
