Keep in mind that in order to lose one pound you need to burn about 3500 calories. So, if your goal is to lose at least 10 pounds in a week you need to keep that perspective. The best way to lose weight in a week requires a lot of hard work and dedication which might not be something you’d like to hear. However, it can be done if you’re willing to make some sacrifices.

One big mistake that people make when trying to lose weight fast in a week is to practically starve themselves. This is just silly and actually may cause you to gain weight during the week. If your body think its starving it starts to act like a life preserver and stores fat in anticipation of famine. Scientists state that your metabolic rate goes down by 40% when you starve yourself for more than 12 hours.

If you want to lose weight you need to keep your body from going into starvation mode. And guess what–the best way to do that is to eat. Even better is to eat often, in the form of small healthy meals and snacks. And don’t skip breakfast! Breakfast is what starts your metabolism! So, drink as much water as you can stand, and eliminate pop as well as any other drink that contains calories or caffeine. DO NOT DRINK YOUR CALORIES. Save your calories for food!

Eating a lot of fiber will really help to keep things moving and clear out your intestinal tract. Black beans, bananas, and apples are good choices. Eat at least one serving of these per day. More is better. Also, don’t forget to make exercise part of your daily routine. Opt for the stairs, go for a walk, and park in the back of the parking lot.
