How to Lose Weight Quickly

If you are needing to lose weight in a short amount of time, you’ll need to be focused.  Whether you want to lose the weight before a school reunion, before the summer so that you can have a bikini body or maybe you are just sick of the extra weight that you have, I can show you how to lose weight quickly.

The first step if you want to quickly lose weight is to get your nutrition in order.  You will want to limit your sodium intake.  Sodium soaks up water, and so it adds extra weight to your body, in addition to it being quite unhealthy in large amounts.  There are plenty of other seasoning you can use to spice up the flavor of the food you cook so that you don’t need to use as much sodium.

Another key is to drink more water.  Water is to your body as oil is to your car in that it keeps your body running at the optimum level, especially your metabolism which is key in losing weight.  The best way to lose weight quickly is to start drinking more water.  it is recommended that you drink at least 8 glasses of water a day but that won’t be enough for some people.  Divide your weight in half, and drink that many ounces. So, if you weigh 300 pounds, you’ll need to drink 150 ounces of water every day.  While in the beginning you will be going to the bathroom a lot, after about a week your body will adjust to the new amount and you won’t be going to the bathroom nearly as much.  While it’s an initial sacrifice, if you are desperate to lose weight quickly, drinking that much water will help you tremendously.

More things that you should stay away from include foods that are high in fats and cholesterol.  Don’t cut out carbs completely.  While cutting out carbs can help people who sit around and do nothing, to lose weight, for someone who will be exercising (as you will need to in order to loose weight quickly) it is not a good idea.

Exercise is extremely important, but going for a walk or a run every day simply won’t cut it.  While cardio (such as running on a treadmill, outside, or using an elliptical) is important to weight loss, you also need to do resistance training.  Resistance training will help you to build muscle and the more muscle you build, the faster you will lose weight.  You’ll even be able to lose weight faster just being idle the more muscle you have.  Don’t worry that muscle weighs more than fat because you’ll still be able to lose weight as described above.  It’s not all about losing pounds (though that will happen anyway).

As I said above, resistance training is the best way to lose weight quickly.  The most popular form of resistance training is lifting weights because something heavy provides natural resistance.  But, you can also use your body as a form of resistance training by doing exercises such as pushups, situps, and mountain climbers.  These are fantastic ways to lose weight quickly.

So, now you have no excuse to just sit around and ask yourself, “How can I lose weight quickly?”  Now you know.  By implementing these steps, by doing proper nutrition in addition to cardio exercises as well as resistance training, you will begin to see the pounds melt off you quickly.
