How You Can Stay Motivated When Losing Weight

The beginning of any weight loss program is when you usually have the most amount of motivation.  As we begin picturing what the final results of all of our work will be, this gives us the enthusiasm to start strong.  When be see setbacks in our weight loss journey, we begin to not be as enthusiastic as we were when we started, and that can cause us to not be as motivated.  Unless we are getting motivation for our weight loss daily, then we may not be successful.  Here are some tips to hopefully give you weight loss motivation and keep you going.

Get some goals written down.  Having real and attainable goals is the best way to stay motivated throughout your weight loss journey.    If you are able to set a goal that you can reach and then reach it, it will give you motivation to continue.  Breaking a larger goal into smaller, attainable chunks, will keep you in a good mindset to continue your journey.

Having a journal to keep track of your weight loss is another great tip.  Find a statistic you want to track like waistline inches or your weight and write it down in a journal in each so you can see how far you’ve come.

If you have a partner in your weight loss, like a friend, coworker, or family member, then you can definitely keep each other motivated to see it through.  Having like a weight loss group you can go to for support in your area can be a great way to find and meet like-minded people and get encouraged by them.

Having specific prizes or rewards set for when you reach one of your weight loss goals will give you the incentive and the drive to keep going when nothing else will.  Make it something, a non-food item, that you’ll really want.
