Protein Powder Info & Protein Powders Review

When people are looking to get in shape and workout, it is human nature to want to find the easiest and fastest way to build muscle and to lose weight.  While some products claim to be magic solutions, there aren’t too many good products out there that can really assist you in building muscle properly.  Protein powders are definitely one of the products that can help, but they will only help you if you are actually putting in the work to do weight training.  Just buying a protein powder, mixing it in a drink, and drinking it won’t help you to build muscle, it does take some work.

There are different kinds to choose from, and because of that, it is hard to really tell you which one is the best protein powder.  While I won’t go into specific brands (ie: isopure protein powder or designer whey protein powder), I will show you the different varieties that are available, and then you pick which kind suits you and your muscle building needs better.

Whey Protein Powder

Whey protein powder is definitely one of the most popular kinds that there are available.  Cow’s milk contains two different kinds of protein, and whey is one of them.  Although whey isn’t the majority of the protein in the milk, it is rated higher as well as being more soluble.  Whey protein can help you to build muscle as well as repair muscle (when you lift weights, it tears down the muscle and needs to be repaired.)  It also helps you to get the energy you need, as well as increase all of the functions related to metabolism.

Rice Protein Powder

Rice, often thought of as a carbohydrate, actually contains amino acids which create the proteins.  The proteins can be separated from the carbs, and processed into a powder.  Some people don’t like the taste of rice protein and complain that it can be chalky or bitter.  But, mixing it in with foods or smoothies can help to hide any taste that you may dislike.  Some of the plusses of rice protein powders is that they can be great for people with allergies to other types of proteins and most people can digest it really easily.

Egg Protein Powder

Egg protein powders are medium-absorbing proteins, somewhere between the absorption rates of casein and whey protein powder.  Since eggs are fantastic sources of protein by themselves, many people like egg protein powders.  They will be one of the lowest calorie protein powders available.   It is also helpful for those who are looking to cut down the amount of body fat that they have.  Another variation is to get an egg white protein powder.

Hemp Protein Powder

This is a fairly new type of protein to the market.  Many brands will not have as much protein in them as most people will need.  Hemp protein powders contain both Omega 3 and Omega 6 essential fatty acids as well as being a great source of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

When it comes to protein powders, you often get what you pay for.  If you buy cheap protein powder, you may not get as much benefit as you would if you paid a little bit more for a better quality protein powder.  Be sure to find out what kind of best for you and your lifestyle.
