The Quickest Way to Lose Weight
If you have an important event coming up, or maybe you just want to get healthy, you may be wondering, “What’s the quickest way to lose weight?” Well, there are a few different ways to lose weight fast, but a lot of the things you’ll probably see on TV are unhealthy. Diets that only focus on one type of food (lemonade cleanse, cookie diet, etc) are unhealthy because you won’t be getting all of the nutrients you need. Yes, you may lose weight, but you will not be healthier and you will probably gain all of the weight back rather quickly once you stop such a diet.
Starvation doesn’t work either. In fact, after a few days you’ll notice that you aren’t really lose weight at all, because you’ll have to eat at some point, and once you do your body will hold onto the food and store it since it doesn’t know when it’ll get food again, and then you’ll be gaining weight despite the starvation.
If you want to lose weight fast you’ll need to focus on 3 main things: 1) Eating right, 2) Cardio exercise and 3) Resistance training. By incorporating those 3 things, you’ll see that you’ll be able to achieve fast weight loss. I will walk you through each step and show you what it takes to go through the quickest way to loose weight.
The first step is eating right. You don’t have to starve yourself, but making healthier choices when you do eat and practicing portion control, you’ll see that you are able to begin losing weight quickly. The key is to eat the right foods. If you are eating foods that are high in fat, high in cholesterol, high in sugars or high in sodium then your body will store those fats and you will be unhealthy which will cause your body to not function at its maximum point.
You will want to eat 6 times a day. You will have to eat smaller portions since you are eating more often, but having 3 meals, and 3 snacks throughout the day helps to keep your body in a state of metabolism, and therefore it is continually burning fat and processing your foods correctly. You want to make sure that you have some sort of protein (meats about the size of a fist), some complex carbs (starches like potatoes or pastas), or some vegetables. If your meals look like that, and you have some fruit or a protein source like peanuts or other types of nuts for your snack, you’ll be well on your way to lose weight fast.
The next thing that you want to do is to do some sort of cardio exercise. The problem is that people want to simply focus on cardio exercise and run on the treadmill for an hour and a half or go for a long run, hoping to lose weight. The problem is that your body gets used to the motion of running really quickly, so it becomes very efficient at it, so it doesn’t use up as much energy as it did in the beginning. That means you will be burning less calories despite the long lengths you are running because your body has adapted to that motion.
The key with cardio is to use it as a warm up for the rest of your workout. If you do interval training in your cardio, you’ll see much better results. An example of that would be to jog for 1 minute, then sprint for 1 minute, then jog for one minute then sprint for one minute. That only takes 4 minutes total, but it will help you to burn calories, get your heart rate up, and your body won’t be able to adapt because you are continually mixing it.
Lastly, the main bulk of your workout needs to be resistance training. The most popular form of resistance training is lifting free weights, but you can also use weight machines as well as using your own body weight to do resistance training. Many people who are trying to lose weight are afraid to lift weights because they have heard that muscle weighs more than fat and so they don’t want to gain weight. That is false thinking, because if you build muscle you will burn fat faster both during your workouts and when you are just around your house.
If you don’t have a gym pass and you don’t have free weights at home, you can do body weight resistance exercises. Pushups and situps are great examples of such exercises. These use your body weight to provide resistance, in order for you to still be able to work out and gain muscle. For the women, if you don’t want to be all bulky and look like the female bodybuilders, then just focus on using a lighter weight, but doing more repetitions of each exercise. For the guys who want to bulk up and look built, then focus on heavier weights with a lower amount of reps.
