Dr. Anderson recently conducted a study that lasted for several years and showed that most people achieve the best results if they quickly get down to a weight they desire and then try to maintain it. The 112 people who participated in his study lost an average of 65 pounds over the course of five months. The majority of those people kept off 15 of those pounds for more than five years after the study was completed. And they all accomplished this without the use of rapid weight loss diet pills!
However, that doesn’t mean that losing the weight will be easy. The best diet for rapid weight loss usually involves a low calorie diet. Dr. Anderson refers to the diet used in his study as VLCD, which stands for: very-low calorie diet. Participants in his study were only allowed to consume 900 calories per day. The 900 calories consisted of five weight-loss shakes. However, participants could drink three shakes a day as long as they substituted two low-calorie meals for the other shakes.
Despite the success of his study Dr. Anderson discourages people from running out and stocking up on Slim Fast shakes. The best diet for rapid weight loss involves not only eating less calories but also learning how to change your weight-gaining habits. This was an essential aspect of Anderson’s study which stressed the importance of eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Dr. Anderson also recommends burning at least 2000 calories through exercise each week.
