While learning to invert fully may not be the most natural thing to do in this world (we don&#8217;t necessarily hang upside down very often as humans), it can be very beneficial and concentrating on the benefits will help you get through what I like to call the adjustment period, which is usually only 2-3 days long.</p>
<p>First, you need to be able to decide between an <a href="http://hubpages.com/hub/Inversion-Chair-vs-Inversion-Table">inversion chair vs inversion table</a>.  This decision is fairly simple to make.  It usually comes down to a few key points that will dictate which one you prefer.</p>
<p>The first thing to consider is what your physician and/or physical therapist recommends.  Some people are not able to invert at all (people with high blood pressure, have certain heart problems, certain back injuries, or women who are pregnant should avoid it), and some people will have some difficulties with using an inversion table but will be able to use inversion chairs instead.  Generally speaking, if you are worried about hanging upside down but still want to enjoy the many benefits of inverting then you may want to try the inversion chair.  In addition, if you have a difficult time adjusting to an inversion table because your ankles hurt then you also may wish to go with the chair instead of the inversion table.</p>

</div></div><p>However, if you would like to do more than just hang upside down in the chair then you will want to try out an inversion table.  Some of the key exercises and stretches that you can do on a table include the following:</p>
<p>1) Upside down sit-ups and crunches (however make sure your table allows this type of activity)<br />
2) Gently swinging from side to side and stretching your hips.  This is one of the best stretches that I have found for the hips and other joints.<br />
3) Inverting 100 percent.  Usually chairs will only allow you to invert 60 or 70 degrees, which is good, but not as good as a full inversion for many people.</p>
<p>Overall, it really comes down to your preference and what you want out of the inversion therapy&#8211;you really can&#8217;t go wrong with either the inversion table or the inversion chair.</p>
