There is a lot of discussion around whether it is possible to build muscle yet lose fat at the same time. This is important if you want to build ripped abs, as it is thought the increased calorie input needed to build muscle will negate the ability to lose fat. Some feel that doing both is possible but not very effective.

It is possible, however to get a set of ripped abs whilst building muscle at the same time. This is achieved by structuring the workouts such that it increases the bodies metabolism to burn the fat off rather than starving the body to lose weight.

What is required is a routine that both exercises and stimulates the growth of the muscles whilst at the same time increasing the bodies metabolic load. This cannot be achieved with the traditional bodybuilding way of isolating and working individual muscle groups. A good example is the bench press which isolates some of the upper body muscle but does not stimulate the big stabilizing muscles of the abdomen and legs.

An alternative exercise would be a single dumbbell press whilst lying on an exercise or fit ball. The weights used are light, but this way will use the big stabilization muscles in the body while doing one arm presses. This is a great way for working the chest muscles whilst at the same time using nearly all the muscles in the body. Granted, you will not build Arnie sized pecs but you will increase muscle growth and mass whilst at the same time burning fat tissue.

Another great upper body workout is to perform push ups or press ups with the feet elevated on top of the exercise ball. Again, all the big stabilizing muscles are utilized which will increase the metabolic load, stimulating fat loss even without having to make changes in the diet.

If we are to lose fat and at the same time stimulate muscle growth we also need a good nutritional plan in place. To keep the metabolic rate at a high pace it is important to eat at least 5-6 times a day. This will help flood your body with fat burning enzymes and also the extra protein will help in the recovery of the muscles and ultimately muscle growth.

To build muscle it is not necessary to take in vast quantities of protein. The timing of the protein intake is what is more important. The optimum plan is to take in a fast digesting whey protein prior to exercise and then immediately after. This way will ensure that you increase muscle mass and still get ripped abs.

Are you frustrated of the fact that other people can easily bulk up while you, amidst of all that weight lifting and taking weight supplements are still not getting anywhere and still remains with that skinny physique as before? Do you often find yourself asking, can a skinny guy build muscle? In this article you will find several reasons on why you are not getting the results that you want. Read on to find out what they are, so you could mend your ways before it is too late.

One of the main reason as to why skinny dudes fail in terms of muscle building is because they train themselves by imitating the routines that many successful bodybuilders do. While this approach might sound logical, there is a certain flaw in this way of thinking. Why? Well it is actually quite simple. You see, the things that worked for them might not be that effective on you because of your body type.

People who have skinny bodies are referred to as Ectomorphs. This particular body type has a super high metabolism that allows them to remain skinny which is actually a source of jealousy among non-ectomorphs who find it easy to develop muscle mass, but hard to shake away fats. Endomorphs or the skinny dudes build and develop muscles in a very unusual way due to the fact that their metabolism hampers the growth of muscles when their genetics comes into play. Intake of weight supplements is also useless since your body metabolizes it too fast even before it takes effect. The exercises and the weight training that you engage in must also be different from those who do not share your same body type.

Apart from employing the wrong training methods, skinny guys also make use of the wrong diet plan that is not suited for their fast metabolic rate which often leads to injuries and other health issues.
