The Best Weight Lifting Exercises

Our whole bodies are covered in muscles, from our heads to our toes, and they play a vital role in how our body functions.  Anything that we need to do, pretty much requires muscles. (You have probably heard the phrase, “It takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile.”  Ever those activities use muscles!)  If you are wanting to tone your body, or to bulk up, your body can benefit from doing various types of the best weight lifting exercises.  Building muscle helps you to burn fat faster both when working out as well as when you are just sitting around and resting.

Here are some great weight lifting exercises for beginners and seasoned pros:

1. Chest Weight Lifting Exercises – In order to work out your chest, one of the best workouts is to use a bunch press.  Whether you use a flat or an incline bench press, you’ll be able to strengthen your chest muscles.  Focus on pressing upwards in a fluid motion and bringing the bar down so that it hits your chest.  make sure that you always have a spotter so that you do not hurt yourself.

2. Back Weight Lifting Exercises – Some great back exercises are pull ups and chin ups, because the proper motion requires you to keep your back straight and that helps you strengthen your back.  You can also do one-armed rows with dumbbells to strengthen your back.

3. Shoulder Weight Lifting Exercises – Lateral raises using a dumbbell can be a great exercise to help your shoulder muscles.  A seated press using a weight machine can also be a great shoulder weight lifting exercise.

4. Bicep Weight Lifting Excercises – Most people want to work out their biceps, and one of the best ways to do that is to do hammer curls.  Hold the dumbbells like you are holding a hammer, and then curl upwards and bring the weights back down, and there you have a hammer curl!  Standing straight bar exercises as well as cable curls are fantastic exercises for your biceps.

Although there a ton more things that you can do, these are some of the basic weight lifting exercises.  And while this article doesn’t focus strictly of females, these can all be great weight lifting exercises for women.  They just need to focus on lower weights, and doing more reps, and that will keep you tone.  If you want to bulk up, then do more weights and less reps.

I hope you enjoyed all of these free weight lifting exercises.
