Weight Loss Motivation

Most of us who have ever wanted to lose weight start out with plenty of weight loss motivation.  We get excited about the prospect of a thinner, better looking self and set out on our new diet with lots of enthusiasm and good intentions.  However, many times enthusiasm can start to fade or we get discouraged when our progress isn’t going as well as we would like it to.

In order to be successful we need daily weight loss motivation.  It needs to be part of our every day routine to keep our momentum going.  Here are some ideas to help you stay on track with your goals.

Weight Loss Motivation Tips

* Set your goals
One common stumbling block that many people have when trying to lose weight is that they have unrealistic expectations.  When these expectations are not met, they get discouraged and give up.  Learn to set realistic, achievable goals.  If you have a big weight loss goal of wanting to lose 50 pounds, break that goal up and make it a goal to lose 4-5 pounds  in your first month.  This way you can start to succeed and gain momentum.

* Keep track of your progress
Keep a journal or some sort of record where you keep track of what you are doing and what you have accomplished.  You can keep a food diary, keep track of your weight, or whatever statistics or other information is meaningful to you.  This is another way to keep your motivation for weight loss running high.

* Find a friend or family member to share your weight loss goals and dreams with.  You may even be able to find a motivation weight loss clinic for support and guidance.

* Take some weight loss motivation pictures and keep them in a prominent place where you can see them.  You might want to take a picture of yourself in a certain outfit and continue taking pictures to show how loose and baggy the clothes look as you continue to lose weight.

* Reward yourself.  Be sure to treat yourself when you meet your incremental weight loss goals.  Make these rewards non-food ones.  Treat yourself to a nice pedicure, bubble bath, massage, movie, or something that you will enjoy.

Weight Loss Motivation Quotes

“If you don’t do what’s best for your body, you’re the one who comes up on the short end.”

“Strength is the capacity to break a chocolate bar into four pieces with your bare hands and then eat just one of the pieces.”

Weight loss motivation is something we all need to nurture and work at in order to maintain our momentum and keep focused and on track in order to meet our weight loss goals.
